So these are some of the requirements that I think would help you follow along with this course. In terms of hardware requirements, you need a decent workstation or gaming PC with at least 16 GB RAM and dedicated graphics card memory, especially when we do grooming things could get a little slower if you have a lower-end PC.Īnother nice to have thing is a pressure-sensitive tablet of any kind, it can be just a graphics tablet or a pen tablet I will be using industry-standard programs like Zbrush for modeling, Substance Painter for texturing, Autodesk Maya for UV mapping, grooming in xgen, and final rendering using Vray. And lastly, I will use Photoshop for post-processing. You will find a lot of good tips and tricks to become a better 3D artist. I want to mention that this course is not for absolute beginners rather it is for someone who has a basic understanding of 3D modeling and has some basic working knowledge in programs like Maya, Zbrush, and Substance Painter, but if you are a total beginner and curious to learn some general workflows that will help you with your journey in becoming a better artist, feel free to take this course. And if you have some basic 3D modeling experience yet are struggling to create high-quality images, this course is for you, So in this course, we will work together on a project from start to finish with the aim of creating one final image that best shows your skills to clients. In learning 3D programs you often end up watching many tutorials that are not well structured, and all you have is just a work in progress that doesn’t show your skills are very common. I prepared this course with the goal of helping you create your first portfolio piece. So in general I will address modeling, texturing, grooming, look development, rendering, and post-processing. The entire character is modeled from scratch with the mindset that it will be used for animation. I was inspired by Zootopia’s character design. It’s gonna be stylized and heavily influenced by one of my favorite movies, Zootopia from Walt Disney Animation Studio. This course is about creating a stylized rockstar goat character, based on a concept that I did some time ago.
